Our school follows the Department of Education’s Enrolment Policy for the enrolment, placement, and transfer of students.
Choosing a school for your child /children is a really important decision; having faith in the school environment you choose for your child is a critical part of the home – school partnership.
You’re very welcome to come for a tour and to have a chat with us about how we can support your child / children in their academic and their interpersonal development.
We have developed a Virtual School Tour and we invite you to contact the school to arrange an enrolment tour and conversation with the School Principal.
We have a four-visit program in Term 4 each year which supports our new students of all ages (and their mums and dads!) to learn about Exford and to feel confident about starting school.
We aim for all children to meet their next year’s teacher and to develop a group of friends. We hold information sessions for parents and help you with organising for the school start.
We invite you to contact the school Office to arrange a school tour.
Enrolment Zone
School enrolment zones are established by the Department of Education. Here is the link to the Find My Schools website – Find my School website.
We ask that families intending to enrol at Exford Primary School for the 2026 school year please contact us for an enrolment tour and to collect an enrolment application. Enrolment applications will be considered as per the enrolment guidelines as outlined by the Department – https://www.vic.gov.au/enrolling-foundation-prep
Here is the timeline for enrolment applications for 2026 Prep students:
- Submit an enrolment application for Foundation (Prep) by Friday 25 July 2025.
- You will be notified of the outcome of your application between Monday 28 July and Friday 8 August 2025. If you receive an enrolment offer, you should accept the offer by Friday 22 August 2025.
- Take part in information and transition sessions during Term 4, 2025.
We are beginning to plan for our 2026 school program and ask families planning on coming to Exford PS to contact us as soon as possible so that we can include them in our planning. We also need accurate student numbers in order to provide the correct number of classes, teachers and classrooms for 2026 and beyond.
We would like to include your children in our Transition Program in Term 4, which we can only offer to enrolled children. We hold a four visit program for our Preps, with parent information sessions held at the same time.
We also hold a four visit program for our Year 1-6 new students, where the children are welcome to spend four days in our classrooms to help them make friends and settle in, ready for their start at Exford PS.
We look forward to welcoming new children and families into our school community.
When enrolling a student for the first time, the following are required:
- Completed Schools’ Enrolment Form and Permissions Form
- Proof of Date of Birth (Birth Certificate)
- School Entry Immunisation Certificate (obtainable from the Childhood Immunisation Registry)
- Will you require Out of Hours School Care (before or after school hours)?
Please go online to the OSH Club website and enrol your child online for Exford PS – you can then make bookings as needed.
Children need to be 5 years of age by 30th April in the year that they commence school.
Information about Readiness for School and Transition can also be found on the Department of Education website.
